RIM will lose a significant portion of the business smartphone market to Android over the next five years, and the Google OS is expected to account for over a quarter of the market by 2016, according to Ovum.

The analyst firm believes that shipments of Android smartphones will increase by 21 per cent annually over the next five years, from 4.7 million at the end of this year to 14.2 million in 2016.
