The Challenge

Focus wanted to provide their customers with an application that enabled their products and services to be at the forefront of their end clients’ minds and allowed them to engage securely with an adviser. The app needed to provide a mechanism for end clients to gain a view of their total portfolio and the status of their financial objectives at a touch of a button – also providing alerts if they need to do anything about their current financial situation. It was essential that the app fully integrated with the focus:360° platform rather than operating as a standalone application, as all actions performed on the smartphone needed to be fully auditable. In addition, the app needed to be using the latest information available from the full version of focus:360°, so end clients were always operating with their most current financial situation.

Our Solution

Focus Solutions wanted to develop a smartphone application that fully integrated with their focus:360° multi-channel distribution platform, to enable firms who have adopted focus:360° to roll out the application to their end clients. The smartphone application would give the end clients access to their latest portfolio information and also enable them to review the financial objectives that they had set with their adviser. The target audience for this application is banks, IFAs, wealth management firms and product providers. Therefore, the app was to be developed on the iOS and Android platforms to give Focus’ clients more options and channels to reach as many end clients as possible.

Conclusion

The application has been well received and organisations have been very impressed with the functionality and look and feel of the application. As focus:360° software is positioned as a multi-channel platform, it was important for Focus Solutions to demonstrate that they are developing the latest channels that consumers want to communicate and buy financial service products through – which includes smartphones. The app achieved this.
