The beauty of apps is that they can be improved upon over time, based on how they are used; they can also be further developed to respond to operational changes. It’s important to understand that an app requires ongoing maintenance and support. Mobile has ushered in a new paradigm, where operating systems get updated every year and owners upgrade devices every few years.

Apps need to be updated to ensure that they still work and that any discrepancies are addressed to avoid the effect it could have on usability. Monitoring and tracking app usage, through the use of analytics, is key to understanding how apps are being used.
