Yesterday Mike Crooks, Commercial Director of our MiBeacons division, spoke on a panel at the Mobile Apps in Research Summit, held at the University of Birmingham.
Back for its second year, the summit brought together some of the industry’s leading experts and academics to discuss the subject of mobile apps in research.
As many of the delegates at the summit were university students, the main objective of this event was to provide valuable insight from the people who are pioneering the charge on innovation in mobile research and providing real-world applications.
Mike spoke alongside industry experts including:

- Dr. John Vines, Google Glass for people with Parkinsons, Lecturer in the School of Computing Science, Newcastle University

- Jamyn Edis, Founder / CEO Dash Labs Inc and Adjunct Assistant Professor, New York University Stern School of Business
During this session, the panel discussed the Future of mobile apps: Ubiquitous apps, appcessories, and the Internet of Things. Mike was there as an expert, discussing the opportunities of beacon technology as a connector between physical objects and our digital devices, in this increasingly connected world.
