The great apps drought – can it be prevented?

TechRadar spoke to JP Luchetti, Mubaloo’s consultancy director, about tactical vs strategic apps and how to use resource more effectively in the long term.

By the end of 2017 market demand for mobile app development services will grow at least five times faster than organisations’ internal IT’s capacity to deliver solutions, according to analysts at Gartner.

To highlight some of the factors companies need to consider, in light of this prediction, TechRadar spoke to JP Luchetti, Mubaloo’s consultancy director, about tactical vs strategic apps and how to use resource more effectively over the long term.

Strategic apps should be created to suit a company’s unique operational processes. Functions core to the business are far more likely to provide the ROI as a bespoke build. Every business has its own specific systems and workflows around their core offering and a bespoke build ensures efficiency by tailoring the solution to these business needs.

“Companies should know where they want to have control and prioritise areas that deliver value, and which they can commit to continue to support and improve over time” according to Luchetti.
