The Sunday Times: App, app and away

Six years on and Mark Mason has sold Mubaloo to IPG Mediabrands, part of Interpublic, one of the world’s top-four marketing agencies.

In this article, The Sunday Times looks into Mubaloo joining IPG Mediabrands.

The last time Mark Mason sold his business, he intended to spend more time in his balloon. But within months he was starting up Mubaloo, a mobile app developer.

Six years on and Mason has sold Mubaloo — which counts Aviva and London’s Air Ambulance among its clients — to IPG Mediabrands, part of Interpublic, one of the world’s top-four marketing agencies.

“It will give us greater access to global clients and greater financial security.” said Mark Mason, Mubaloo’s Chairman, who started Mubaloo in 2009 with £180,000 of his own money.
