Apple announced that it has had another record quarter. The record breaking quarter was driven by Apple’s record breaking iPhone; with 48 million units sold in just four months. Whilst the iPad has continued to decline in sales, Apple sold 9.8 million units and is seeing strong growth in China. With the iPad Pro due out and iOS 9 only recently released, it’s possible we could soon see a turnaround on this. The Mac division, meanwhile, continues to go from strength to strength, with Apple selling 5.7 million units this quarter.

The result of these sales, helped along by the Apple Watch (for which no numbers were released), saw Apple report $51.5 billion in revenue and $11.1 billion in profit from July to September. All of this means that fiscal 2015 was Apple’s most successful year ever, with revenue growing by 28% to nearly $234 billion.

Over the past year, Apple’s enterprise business reached $25 billion in revenue, resulting from its continued push for business customers and success of iOS as a business tool. Whilst Microsoft continues to be the market leader for selling technology to businesses, with around $52 billion in sales to the enterprise, Apple increased its revenue by 40% year-over-year.

Key to this is Apple’s partnership with IBM and most recently Cisco, but also its Mobility Partner Programme, where it is working with 75 mobility partners, principally in US but expanding internationally to help drive iOS and OS X into enterprise.

During the earning call, Apple delved deeper into its record breaking year, announcing that 61% of iOS users are now on iOS 9 and that there are now 13,000 Apple Watch apps available, with a further 1,300 native watchOS 2 apps.

In terms of Apps, the App Store business grew by 25% in the last quarter, helped by a 127% increase in revenue from from China. In the September quarter, this helped to contribute to Apple’s Services revenue reach $5.1 billion, an all-time high, up 10 percent from the same quarter last year.

With the iPad Pro due for release at some point over the next month and the iPhone 6S only having recently been announced, Apple is indicating that its forthcoming holiday quarter will be another success. The fact that there are more iPhones and iPads being bought by businesses is only a good thing for companies like Mubaloo.
