Cliff Saran of Computer Weekly spoke to Mark Daniels, Head of IT and business transformation at MTR Crossrail, about their collaboration with Mubaloo Innovation Lab in deploying beacons and custom mobile apps across the Elizabeth line. As the largest enterprise deployment of the technology in Europe, Computer Weekly was keen to learn more about the success the technology has delivered for the rail network.

Mubaloo Innovation Lab worked closely with MTR Crossrail to successfully deploy innovative and effective mobile technology solutions to help improve efficiencies and productivity across the operation. Oliver Bratten, MTR Crossrail’s operations director, was quoted saying “A key part of our bid focused on driving efficiencies with mobile. Our aim is to set the benchmark for passenger experience on European metro services and achieve internationally recognised high standards of safety, reliability, quality and customer service.”

The Mubaloo Innovation Lab will work in partnership with MTR Crossrail over the next three years to deploy beacons across all 40 stations on the Elizabeth Line. This partnership will continue to develop pioneering methods to revolutionise practice within the rail industry. This intention was reiterated by Mark Daniels, who said “we want to be innovative in auditing our train stations.”
